Zvi Herman צבי ארמן (1903-1993) was born in Poland in 1903 .He studied art in Krakov.
After surviving World War II in Poland, he attempted to immigrate illegally to Eretz Israel, then Palestine under the British Mandate. His attempt failed and he was interned in Cyprus.
After he immigrated to Israel Zvi Herman worked as an architect.
In 1966 he joined “the artists ‘ colony” in Safed. He was influenced by modern art and focused on scenery drawings.
